P. Zongo – Shalom School Co-Project Manager – Burkina Faso

I am Zongo Koudwaongo Frederic. Born the 1st of January 1967 in Bingo in the province Bulkiemdé - Koudougou. My father and mother were animists, admirers of the idols. My Father had four wives, because he wanted a child boy for his succession, but alas, all four women gave him seven boys who all died. Finally he decided married my mother to have a boy, because in Africa it is a serious problem not to have a boy.

I served in the national service for one year in 1988. It was during this period that I became a Christian. I was recruited to teach after the completion of my military service, and intermittently with continuing my studies I taught primary school. After many years of teaching, and with the help of some German humanitarians, I started the construction of Shalon Primary School. Since then, HtW has come on with our local organization, and the German counterpart to expand the vision and funding of our school.

I married Clarisse in 1993, and we have two girls and one boy.
