Financial Structure

Through continued support, Heal the World finances operations such as building schools in Burkina Faso, procuring school supplies, raising tuition funds for students in Mali, and increasing access to tertiary education in other parts of West Africa. To successfully complete these projects, Heal the World depends on the generosity of those who are motivated to make a difference in the lives of others.

Heal the World, Inc. is registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States. 501(c)(3) is a provision by the United States internal revenue code that permits legitimate charitable, non-profit, religious, and educational organizations to accept donations on a tax-deductible basis. Under IRC Section 170, individuals giving to 501(c)(3) organizations may deduct contributions representing up to 50% of their adjusted gross income, private foundations may deduct 30% their adjusted gross income, and corporations up to 10% of their taxable income. The American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army all operate under 501(c)(3) status.
